Preparation for the trip

I wanted to involve the boys as much as possible and as early as possible. I first organized a fund raising dinner where the boys played a major part in the preparation of the food and with the  catering. We invited local community, family and friend for the dinner to give the Youth Exchange a good promotion and also to give the boys a good moral boost. We needed money to buy suitcases, passports, spending money for gifts ect, ect.

We also had a task which consisted of cooking a meal for 60 people during the exchange. Each country  cooked a national  dish. We decided to cook backed macaroni. We asked the help of our resident chief to train us how to cook it and it was suggested that we will make a meal before we go so we will be better prepared.

As we got closer to the day we involved the rest of our residential youth. Together the youths taking part, put together a PowerPoint presentation and went round to each unit to present it to them and to answer any questions they have.

We then started to prepare activities for the Maltese night . I wanted to promote Malta and Europe as best as I could so with our youth involved we done some brain storming session where we came up with  three activities.
