MCAST Chaplaincy

In 2014 upon a request by Archbishop Cremona, the Salesians took over the Chaplaincy of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), opening the door for the Salesians to reach out to 7,000 students and 1,000 staff across six locations in Malta and Gozo. Today, there are four confreres forming the Salesian Chaplaincy Team at MCAST, four from the Senglea Community and one stationed in Sliema, with a number of MCAST students doing practical placements directly at St Philip’s, in Senglea.

The Salesian MCAST Chaplaincy aim to be a Christian presence in a Salesian style among staff and students: offering support and service so that MCAST may be for the young “a home that welcomes, a parish that evangelises, a school that prepares them for life and a space where their youth is cherished and valued”.

Kellimni.com

The Salesians are co-founders and partners in the online support platform for young people Kellimni.com.
Kellimni.com is based in Malta and offers one-on-one online support services mainly to young people who may be suffering from loneliness, social exclusion, abuse, neglect or psychological difficulties or may otherwise be in need of emotional, moral and social support. This service aims to harness the power of the internet to provide young people with the opportunity to voice their concerns and take up the rights granted to them in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The internet is well suited for this, it being a medium of communication with which young people feel most comfortable and which is readily available to them even across national boundaries.
