The main objective of the Oratory, better known as ‘Salesjani’ in Sliema is to carry out activities aimed at promoting holistic education of the young. All members are helped to understand that they belong to a family in which they are welcome and to which they have a positive contribution to make. Throughout the years, the Oratory has been able to reach out and animate various young people and help them to develop and implement new ideas by creating new opportunities for them. The Oratory which was founded back in 1908 embraces several sub groups, each with its own specialisation to empower young members to become leaders.
A Home for all young people!
The Sliema Oratory is divided into two main sections: The Juniors Club (ages 7-13) and the Seniors Club (for ages 13-35), which are animated and led by a Committee composed of young people and Salesians alike.
The Oratory is also home to several groups that, while all having a specific purpose within the youth centre, form a fundamental part of it.

Salesian Brigade
The Salesian Brigade is a Catholic Salesian uniformed young people organisation which was founded in 1910. The evolution of The Brigade over the years has resulted in many successes in delivering Christian children’s and youth work into the community as well as introducing many young people to faith and the life of the church.
Salesian Worship Team
The Salesian Worship Team is a section of the Salesian Oratory in Sliema, made up of a group of committed youths who mainly animate the 19:30 Mass at the Oratory Chapel. The group undergoes team-building, musical and spiritual formation throughout the year through activities such as live-ins, seminars and through the numerous rehearsals which take place all year round.
Environment Team
The Environment Team aims to improve the members sustainable mentality in order to lead an environmentally friendly lifestyle to better our environment. As a team our main outreach is to firstly educate our members in order for them to have the right tools to be sustainable and also help them in implementing these values in their everyday life and especially in the oratory.

Bosco Summer School
The Bosco Summer School is a seven-week educational experience held at the Salesian Oratory, Sliema. It is an annual event (held every Summer) that has been taking place for the past 20 years.
It provides an inclusive setting where a sense of belonging is created between all children taking part, even those with difficult backgrounds and fewer opportunities. As a matter of fact, its aim is that of providing fun in a family atmosphere for all those attending. Activities vary from sports, adventure, performing arts, outings, daily mass & much much more!
During Winter, Bosco Summer School Reunions are being held. These are moments where we can relive the same experience we live each Summer for the Bosco Summer School.
